معمولا مطالبی که در slashdot پیدا میشود برای بیشتر افرادی که با کامپیوتر سر و کله می زنند جالب هستش.مطلبی که امروز خوندم مربوط می شد به یکی از اختراعات و توسعه های NASA در مورد تشخیص گفتار ( افکار ) که به وسیله انتقالات عصبی در ناحیه زیر چانه و بالای Adam’s apple دریافت می شود/
برای من جالب بود ، استفاده های بیشمار و منحصر به فردی می تواند داشته باشد، اگر خواستید بخوانید :

A person using the subvocal system thinks of phrases and talks to himself so quietly it cannot be heard, but the tongue and vocal cords do receive speech signals from the brain,’ said developer Chuck Jorgensen, of NASA’s Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California. Jorgensen’s team found that sensors under the chin and one each side of the Adam’s apple pick up the brain’s commands to the speech organs, allowing the subauditory, or ‘silent speech’ to be captured. The story indicates the method could be useful on space missions or other difficult working conditions.

The Command Line Bot is a tool that enables access to distrbuted UNIX systems and services from a simple messenger. The unified log-in works for UNIX systems and applications running on them that also need authentication; these include databases, storage managers, and other enterprise software. The log-in is done through a simple messenger client (such as IBM Sametime or Yahoo/MSN Messenger.) The ubiquity of the messenger and easy access from wireless devices are added advantages.
